A hands-on forest management workshop and field day will be held
June 24 in Sundance, Wyo. Landowners and industry and resource
professionals will benefit from sessions on conducting individual tree
and stand measurements, management techniques for creating a healthy forest,
logging techniques, identification and management of insects and disease,
and protecting forests and homes from wildfire. The majority of
the workshop will be held in the field.

A Conservation Security Program (CSP) sign-up will be available
from April 18 to May 16, 2008, for eligible private landowners in Wyoming's
Beaver Creek Watershed. The majority of the watershed
lies in Weston County.
The CSP is a voluntary program that supports ongoing stewardship
of private agricultural working lands and rewards those producers
who are meeting the highest standards of conservation and environmental
management on their operations. |

The Garden Creek stream restoration in Nancy English Park in Casper neared
completion with the installation of the soil bioengineering
component on
April 16, 2008. Willows were planted with assistance from
the City of Casper
Parks and Street Department, Natrona County Conservation District, Wyoming
Game and Fish Department, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the Natural
Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). |
