Land Capabilitiy Class of Cropland in Wyoming 1997

The majority of the cropland (cultivated and noncultivated) occurs on land that has a Land Capability Class of II through V, which are considered classes of land well suited for producing crops.
The USDA Land Capability Class represents the capability of the soil for producing food and fiber.
Land Capability Classes I through V are considered suitable for cultivated crops.
Land in Classes VI through VIII are only suitable for food and fiber if a permanent vegetative cover is maintained such as  rangeland, hayland, or forest land.
