1997 NATIONAL RESOURCES INVENTORY- WYOMING

Conversion from Agricultural Uses to Non-Agricultural Uses, Nonfederal Land in Wyoming

      The rate of conversion of nonfederal land from agricultural to non-agricultural uses during the period of 1992 to 1997 increased dramatically when compared to the 1987 to 1992 period.  The  increase in development of urban areas, transportation systems, mineral extraction, and other non-agricultural uses  during the period of 1992 to 1997 contributed significantly to this rate of conversion.
