NATIONAL RESOURCES INVENTORY-WYOMING

Soil
loss due to water erosion on the majority of the Conservation Reserve Program
(CRP) acres in Wyoming is very low. For the majority
of the soils in CRP, the ability of the soils to renew themselves and sustain
productivity is greater than the amount of soil loss from water erosion. The soil
loss lerance value represents the amount of soil that can be lost to
erosion annually with the soil maintaining its potential to produce food
and fiber. The number
2T represents 2 times the soil loss tolerance value, 3T represents 3 times
the soil loss tolerance value, and so forth.
