1997 NATIONAL RESOURCES INVENTORY-WYOMING

Chart of Annual Sheet and Rill Erosion on Cultivated Cropland 1992 to 1997

Water erosion on the majority of the cultivated cropland acres in Wyoming is less than or equal to the ability of the soil to sustain agricultural productivity.   The soil loss tolerance value represents the amount of soil that can be lost to erosion annually with the soil maintaining its potential to produce food and fiber.  The number 2T represents 2 times the soil loss tolerance value, 3T represents 3 times the soil loss tolerance value, and so forth.
