Pronghorn Pride Festival, Auction, and Visitor's Center

Three representations of the Painted Pronghorn sculptures

The Pronghorn Pride Project is on-going and has had many successes over the last few years. The project includes a parade, street-dancing and an auction which occurs every June in Rawlins, Wyoming.

The Pronghorn Pride celebration includes the following:

  • A street parade with full-size Pronghorn Antelope sculptures that exhibit the spirit of Wyoming. These artistic sculptures are on rolling carts that travel through the main streets of Rawlins carried by local residents. This is the third year that local Wyoming artists have painted the Pronghorn sculptures and each one depicts a Wyoming experience.
  • The afternoon has vendors and street-dancing available on Rawlins' Main Street.
  • A Pronghorn sculpture auction starts in the early evening. Each sculpture is bought by the highest bidder.

The funds raised through this art program are to be used for the construction of a Visitor’s Center\Rest Area along with a Pronghorn Interpretive Center. This will be located near I-80 to attract traffic off the Interstate.

There are many partners in this project who have made considerable contributions including ‘Main Street Rawlins.’ Progress has been steady and increasing each year but there is still a ways to go to the completion of the Visitor’s Center. Enthusiasm is high in Rawlins and the surrounding communities and the project should be completed in a few years.
